The traditions of homegrown produce, artisan crafts and Hoosier hospitality continue to this day in Brown County, Indiana. The agricultural county sits in the heart of South Central Indiana, yet is a mere 40-minute drive from the state's capital, Indianapolis.

covered bridges Paying homage to the links to the past are Brown's five covered bridges. The two most notable would be the Beanblossom Bridge, just north of Nashville, and the Ramp Creek Covered Bridge, which crosses Salt Creek at the north entrace of Brown County State Park. Though it is subject to heavy traffic, the Ramp Creek bridge is the oldest covered bridge still standing in Indiana as well as the only 2-lane covered bridge.

Residents of Brown County would tell you that there is nowhere else that they would rather live, enjoying temperate seasons and endearing landscapes. In fact, its the land that appeals the most to the citizens of Brown, its hills surrounding them in comfort and echoing the traditions from centuries long ago. Visitors enjoy the smoky views all year long, with the occasional snowfall transforming the arbored landscapes into winter wonderlands.
